While the starships players will inhabit in the massively multiplayer Star Wars: The Old Republic may look unfamiliar, the initial reference for those vessels is a vehicle Star Wars gamers are. However, Lucas suggested a design similar to the ships in the original trilogy; Doug Chiang and the Lucasfilm art department responded with a design similar to the Tantive IV model created for Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.

A rather rare find, the D5-Mantis is a compact assault ship built with efficiency in mind. Its small size and three retractable weapons foils make it perfect for quick space battles, and is great for darting in and out of enemy fire with ease.
